Think outside the box

Huge backhoes driving around a junk yard in Seattle’s muddy winters will inevitably sink right in and get stuck if they aren’t driving on huge pieces of steel. Wascha Studios worked with local fabricator, Decorative Metal Arts, to go collect some of the old rusted steel plates and re-purpose them for use on a contemporary residential fireplace. Look around you and try to look at things in a different way. Do you like the surface texture? Do you like the color? Don't be afraid to point these things out to your architect. Sometimes strange and unexpected things can create an amazingly unique architectural feature for you to enjoy every single day! There is nothing more gratifying than listening to your gut about something that inspires you and doing something about it!

I am pleased to share this article featuring Wascha Studios and the reuse of materials!
